Jane Maxwell, 77, of Darlington died Friday in Culver Union Hospital. She had owned and operated Maxwell's Flower Shop and Greenhouse at Darlington. Mrs. Maxwell was a past worthy matron of the Darlington Order of Eastern Star and a past pres. of the Darlingotn Legion Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School at Indianapolis and the American Floral Arts School at Chicago. She was born Feb 26, 1918 at Indianapolis to Clarence L and Martha J Dill Doty. She married Marvin W. Maxwell Dec 30, 1943. He died Dec 27, 1980. Surviving are two sons, Jamie E of Ft. Wayne and Michael L of Darlington; a daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Martha) Routh of New Ross; two brothers, Charles T. Doty of Danville In and John V of Janesville Wisc; a sister, Louise E. Rancourt of Lake Holiday; 8 grandchildren, 3 stepgrandchildren; four great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. She was preceded by a son, Stephen A. Maxwell. Fun. serv. are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in Burkhart Fun Home, Darlington Chapel with the Rev. David Fremstad officiating. Bur. will be in Oak Hill Cem. Friends may calla fter 2 p.m. Sunday.
